Purpose
With guidance from the Director of Housing Services, the Rapid Rehousing (RRH) Manager will provide supervision, program management, training, and professional development to staff in Rapid Rehousing and Rep Payee Services. The Rapid Rehousing program provides rental assistance and case management services for people that are literally and chronically homeless and the Rep Payee program works with clients to create monthly budgets and manages clients’ incomes. The Rapid Rehousing Manager will participate in the Greater New Haven Coordinated Access Network (CAN), coordinate with other New Haven providers and funders, and attend required committees and meetings both internally and externally.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and supervise Rapid Rehousing and Rep Payee staff.
- Provide all necessary program oversight ensuring consistency and continuity of services rendered.
- Attend regularly scheduled supervision, team, staff, and Columbus House meetings as required.
- Attend CAN Housing and Case Collaboration meetings and other community and funder meetings as needed.
- Complete City, State, and Federal reports as required.
- Work with the Director of Housing Services in monitoring program budgets and attend budget meetings as required.
- Assist staff with conducting landlord outreach and education efforts.
- Prepare for funder and internal audits. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services required with a minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative or management role.
- Financial literacy and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently or in groups. Ability to work with improvement teams and foster teamwork.
- Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered-Planning, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed and Gender Specific Care and Housing First philosophies and models.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Supervised by: Director of Housing Services
Salary: Based on education and experience plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with some flexibility
